Add A Plan
Configuring a plan requires four steps:
- Create a Plan: Set a name, slug, and description.
- Add Features: Select which features are available in this plan and configure their properties.
- Assign the Plan: Determine when the plan is assigned to users, bots, and crawlers.
- Connect Stripe Products (Optional): Link your existing Stripe products to a plan.
To begin, navigate to the Plans section, in the left-hand navigation menu.
Your plans page shows a list of configured plans and allows you to edit existing plans, or add new ones.
Add a Plan
To create a plan, click 'Add a Plan'.
You will be prompted to give your plan a name, slug and optional description. By default, the slug will be a hyphenated version of the name you give the plan, but you can override this if you wish.
If you have Brands enabled, you must link this plan to a particular brand or brands, by clicking the 'Link Brands' button. This means the plan will only be available in environments linked to that specific brand or brands.
Once done, click 'Create'.
Once you've created your plan you will be taken to the edit page. This is broken into three tabs: Configure Features, Plan Assignments, and Manage.
Configure Features
The Configure Features tab allows you to manage which feature properties are set for your customers by this plan.
Any existing configured features will be available in a list view.
To configure new features, click 'Configure Features'.
Select Features For Your Plan
On the left-hand side of the screen you will see a list of your existing features, clicking the drop down arrow next to each feature will reveal a list of the individual properties of each feature.
To add these to your plan, select the relevant features or feature properties from the list, or use the search by above. You can search by either feature or feature property name.
Configure Features For Plan Users
Once you have selected your relevant features you will need to configure the values associated with that feature for your plan.
The values available for configuration are dependent upon the feature property configuration, with different options for number, meterable, string, and boolean feature properties.
You can configure any combination of these features, properties, and access limits into your plan, allowing you to build rich offerings for your users.
Once you have configured your features with the plan, click 'Update Plan'. You will then return to the Feature Configuration list view, showing a preview of all values relevant to your plan.
Plan Assignments
The Plan Assignments tab lets you decide when a plan is assigned to users.
Assign to Humans
Here you have the option to:
- Assign to Anonymous Sessions: This allows unauthenticated users (those who haven't logged in) to access the plan. This option is useful for offering limited free content or trial features without requiring registration.
- Assign to Authenticated Users: This allows users who have created an account and are logged in to access the plan. This is often used to offer enhanced free tiers or gated promotional content.
Assign to Bots and Crawlers
Use these options to block AI crawlers from accessing content or allow access to verified search engines.
- Assign to Verified Search Crawlers: This applies to known search engine crawlers, such as Googlebot.
- Assign to AI Bots and Agents: This applies to AI crawlers and agents, such as ChatGPT or Perplexity.
Assign to Products
This allows you to link the plan to one or more products from your connected Stripe accounts. To link a Stripe product, click 'Assign Products'. A sheet will open showing you all of the synced products from your Stripe account to our system. Use the toggles to choose one or more Stripe products to link to your plan. Customers who purchase these products will gain access based on the configuration you define. Once done, click 'Save'.
Manage
The Manage tab allows you to set up and edit the basics of your plan.
Here you can adjust the name, slug and description and linked brands as required.
